Fireworks - multiple processing.

I rounded the images using Fireworks CS4. It will give trouble to multi-browser usage.

I want to put rounded corners on a batch of jpgs. Is it possible to do this as a batch using Fireworks, or must I do them each seperately?

There is a batch processing functionality in Fireworks (“File > Batch Process…”, choose/add image(s) to process, click “next”, and choose the process) but I don’t think there’s anything that would put rounded corners on the images – unless you find a command script that does this. I guess you could write your own command script to apply a mask with rounded corners to images and use that in the batch process but that’s for JavaScript gurus only and I don’t think there is such a script yet.

However, you can apply rounded corners relatively quickly manually as well I think.

Create a keyboard shortcut for the “Paste as Mask” function: Select “Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts” (on Mac that’s “Fireworks > Keyboard Shortcuts”) and look for the “Edit” item (or the “Modify“ item) in the shortcut list. Drill down the item so that the sub items show up and choose “Paste as Mask”. You can then assign a keyboard shortcut to it, for example by pressing Shift+Ctrl+M. It’ll warn you if a key combination is already in use.
Open all your images you wanna add rounded corners to.
Create a rounded rectangle in one of the images, cut it (Ctrl+X), select the image and paste the rectangle as mask using your recently assigned shortcut (e. g. Shift+Ctrl+M).

You can switch between each image now and re-paste the rectangle several times.

Then you can actually use the batch process function to export all the images at once (in the file selection window, choose “include current open files” only).
