desktop icon that does not liked to be moved

hi on a machine running windows 2k theres an icon for adobe photo delux on the desktop. all the icons accept this one have been moved all over the place. When you try to move the icon more than a few inches from its location, the computer goes into a total freeze and requires a hard boot! all the other icons are fine and can be moved anywere. but this one appears it likes its spot too much and gets angry if you move it:)
does anybody have any idea why this is so?
my idea was that werever the desktop icon positions are storred that it got corrupt, and maby it could be fixed, but i dont know were that is.

Could try rebuilding the ShellIconCache file. This is done when you change your display's color depth, so you could change it, then change back. Could also delete the icon and recreate the shortcut if that fails.
