You'll probably need to consult a lawyer. If the information really is slanderous, getting it taken down may be as easy as the site owner receiving a letter from an attorney.

How could it happened ?? Are you the only one who use that "name" ? If your employer reject your application just because of your name appear in the web .You better found another smarter employer. And did i mentioned if you are so upsad with those" negative view",you can hire a SEO expert to out rank that website.BTW just tell them to write "how good you are" on the site since someone gonna googles it and believe in it.:o

you can hire a SEO expert to out rank that website.

To the OP, this a good point. Just look at this guy spamming the forum so he can dump sig links everywhere for Google to index. These snake oil sellers know their business.

This may be libel and if the article is actually untrue, you can easily get it taken down. If not, you may wish to start court proceedings. Talk to a lawyer.

Also remember that no-one needs your permission to use your name nor do they need to ask for your comment. However, lying like this is probably quite illegal.

thanks, all of you
the lawyer... will not send any letter on my suspition , there is no address, person, publisher - so thats out.
as to any counter google thing like spaming - is it worth it? i mean it's probably seen as a spam (not article)?!
my only option is to send a mail... requesting to omit.... see what happens!
unless anyone else has any better idea to concider :(
have a great day

Do a WHOIS on the domain and find out who registered the domain and see who is hosting it.

No address?
Get the lawyer to send a letter to the hosting company on your behalf (also try the registrar); they should be more than happy to assist you. Which country was the domain registered in?

If it's a common name you could always say hey that's not me, must be someone else. I'm 45 I don't know anything about that internet stuff.

Kind of strange that someone would know your name and actually publish a negative article about you. You could complain to the host. I don't know if it would do much good. If the post is relatively new hopefully over time it will drop in search results to page 5, 10, or even more.

You can report a invaild whois if you feel that the contact information posted isn't real or invalid in someway. If it turns out that he/she does have invalid contact information he or shes site will be taken down by the domain registrar till they fix it.
