Adding music to avi/mpegs

If I was to download a clip made on a digital camera to my PC, how would I add a song file to it before uploading it to my blog?

I'm guessing I'm going to need some software, so if there's any cheap and cheerful packages out there, i.e. free, that anyone knows of, that would allow me to do this then great.

Well for my advice, I think you just edit your video and put music to it. I really do not know how to just put music directly to the video or any software for that but what I can advise is to edit it into the windows movie maker. You can use any software such as adobe premiere pro but movie maker is already built in in your windows. Try it. It's so easy..

search online for "video editing software". many of them will have a 30 day free trial period. try a few. pick the one you like.

if you are only doing simple things, you should not have to pay more than $50.
