crypt, md5, sha1

I thought there were only two one way hashs, MD5 and SHA1 but I found another called Crypt. Is it any good or better/safer than the other two?

I got 9+ algorithms (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptographic_hash_function#Cryptographic_hash_algorithms)
