Findong the Overhead

How can I find out the overhead of my mysql database's tables like phpmyadmin does? i searched mysql.com but didnt find much of anything helpfull

What exactly do you mean?

like in phpmyadmin when you click oin one of your tables it will show yuou the overhead and give you the option to optimize which will remove the overhead space in the table
