Ok, sorry....new subject....i don't even know if this question belongs in this forum. Anyway, i have a website, and i want to run a competition on it. Basically i want people to enter in there name and contact details and an answer to a simple question. I then want that information to be stored somewhere, so i can retrieve it once a month. Do i use Microsoft access?? If someone could help me please..thanks,
Trish:o
Your options depend on the hosting that you have.
In either case, it's a simple little perl/php/asp page. You can store the data in a database (whatever one your server has enabled) or in a flat (text) file on your server.
To complicate things for you, there are various privacy laws that you need to be careful about what data you store and where. In practice, this will require a terms and conditions type of page -- nothing too serious, but make sure you have it there.
