TD transparency doesnt work

i need the TD background to be transparent!

ive stried all the diff ways i know but cant get it to be

ive tried using a transparent gif at the bg
ive tried setting the bg to transparent inline using the style tag
and ive tried setting it to be trasparent in the style sheet

but no

the table bgrnd image was overriding the TD transparancy :)
