I have grown such distane for building websites and debugging them again and agin for each browser, that I feel I need to being an end to it.
Does anybody know of a front-end technology that will deploy consistantly on all browsers? I am aware flash will do this, but its too expensive and I am trying to avoid actionscript (no employer really seems to use it, dont know why. I just want to learn a technology that is eiyther not hard, or one the employers will actually want).
I looked into OpenLaszlo which exports in the flash format, much easier languages to use and they are standard ones (xml, and javascript). But I soon discovered that it is difficult and not well documented on how to get it to work on webhosters.
I am learning java, and thought about using it as the front-end, but not sure how logical it would be to use java for the entire front-end of the web site.
So to sum my needs:
front end cross-browser consistency
cheap or free
uses standard or easy languages
Can work with php
Thanks a lot for your help
