animated .gif vs .swf?

I have a lot of movies on my website, that I've put on using animated .gifs.

The largest is 1.4 mb.

Is there any advantage to making them all .swf files?

Is there any disadvantage?

yes there are advantages by making every movie as an swf or flash movie you can add pre loaders

I think swf consums less time than GIF's and good in quality

use swf file. it is the best solution for your question.
