Hi Guy's,

I have recently installed Win 7 and on the face of it it appears to be faster than XP. However there is a learning curve and the system appears not to be as user friendly as XP.

My question is about Desktop Icons. Within the system there is a way to reduce the size of the Icons but not enough. Has any person found a way to further reduce the size and how?

On your desktop right click > Go to View > Select Medium or Large Icons. Now hold down CTRL and scroll your mouse wheel up or down to resize them. Scroll down they get smaller, vice versa for scrolling up.

The CTRL + scroll won't work if your icons are in classic mode.

Right click task bar, select properties, select toolbars, and select Desktop.

Also, if you take the mouse pointer to the bpttom right of the screen, the desktop will appear to you.

Thats probably not quite what they wanted however the mouse pointer to the bottom right of the screen gets them closer. If you click the spot that looks like a rectangle at the bottom right of your screen it will show your desktop.

You can also use Aero Shake to show most of your desktop except for the window you are using to shake. The windows key plus D also shows the desktop. And if you really prefer a button with an icon on it then you can follow the tutorial here: http://windows7center.com/tutorials/how-to-really-pin-the-show-desktop-to-taskbar-in-windows-7/
