How do you Thank someone?

How do you thank someone so it gets counted in the number of thanks they get?

Its on the bottom right corner of every post except for the feedback and announcement forums.

Thanks. I get the feeling its not just feedback and announcements. :-)

I posted a question and got two helpful replies, but no thank button. There's not one here either. But I picked somebody else's thread at random and saw the button there. But it's not on mine :confused:

New users (below 2 posts) cannot give thanks. Since you now have 2 posts, you should be able to thank people in future posts you make.
