Hi all. I'm looking for a definitive answer as to whether Comic Sans MS' generic font name is cursive, fantasy, sans-serif ..... I've been all over the web and, depending on whose site you visit, it's a toss up!! Does anyone know for sure?
Please and thanks.

Deanna…
I'm pretty sure it's 'Fantasy' as that what the default setting is in IE. The font is awful anyway…

In IE comic sans is fantasy. In Mozilla and Netscape Comic sans is cursive. Fantasy in Mozilla is a script font.
I agree with meerkat the font is awful. Use tahoma or verdana ;)
Peace,
Ed :)

Hi and thanks for your input, meerkat and Ed. And don't worry, I'm not planning on using Comic Sans for my own pages. Someone else asked me and I was pretty sure it was cursive (as in a handwriting font, no?). Then I started second-guessing myself and went to look it up on the web. Then I got all confused with 3 different answers. Now I know why!! Thanks for the clarification.
