Flash video slow motion issue

I have a video embedded on our company website and in order to get the menu bar at the top to work properly and not be hidden by the video I have to add "transparent" to the wmode in the movie properties. This works but the video almost appears to drop frames. Has anyone else run into this? If so, is there a work around?
