Dont' really know what to call it

Alrite on my site, i want to be able to look at everything i have in a folder.
ex.
mysite.com/images
and then i see a list of all the things i have in it and am able to click on a link
and it takes me to it.
example example:
http://www.clubhabboforum.net/images/skins/winter/

for some reason i either get a blank screen or an error message saying i don't have permission

what do i do?

Context? Is this on your own server, a hosted server? Apache version? Within the root directory or a user directory, etc?
