I would like to include a simple search feature on my site and I don't know where to begin to research information on it. Does HTML have that capability? or Javascript? I also have the following web authoring programs: Homesite, Dreamweaver and GoLive, but have not had the chance to dig into these programs to see if they have that feature. Any help would be much appreciated.

You don't have PHP availble on your server (or something similar?)

Contact your web-host. Ask them "What server-side technologies can I access?"
Likely possibilites will be Perl/CGI or PHP. Most other server-side techs cost extra and I'm sure you'd know it if you were paying for it.

So say I have one of those servers, then what do I do.

Well, a server-side driven search engine would be much better and faster, and won't require any manual updates by you when content is added. Also, users with javascript disabled will still be able to search for content!

Of course, these will probably be more difficult to setup w/o any PHP experience.

Thanks for your advice. I plan to take some programming classes this fall. Maybe I'll advance into that then.
