We will be transferring our domain name soon over to dyndns.com. Im getting a little confused as to what exactly todo with the dns service? Should i pay dyndns.com to use there dns?

So should why should i bother paying dydns.com 30 bucks a year when i can get the same thing from godaddy for 6.99

dydns.com provides dynamic DNS services, like if your IP address frequently changes you don't have to potentially wait for the new address to propagate across the planet or manually update it. It works because they point your domain at their DNS server which then redirects to whatever your current IP is. And the other half of the equation is they provide software that you can run on your end so when the IP changes, it goes out and reports the new IP.

If your IP doesn't change or doesn't change frequently, it isn't worth it. One of my domains which points to my server at home is through GoDaddy and I use their nameserver and can update the IP when it changes manually, it usually happens once a year or longer, just depends. And the change is immediate.

ahh ok!! thanks i get it now we already have a static ip here so not worth paying the 30 bucks
