View Full Version : Help! PHP Wordpress sitemap issue!

Hey everyone, I need some advice from people that know what they are doing on PHP - I have a site that uses PHP with Wordpress and my problem is, when I try to run the sitemap, the sitemap process crashes part way through and won't complete my sitemap. What's the deal? It worked the very first time we did it but then hasn't worked since. Since it's so messed up, I'm pretty sure it's screwing up my Index as well. Sometimes I can go for months with a partial sitemap and have a decent number of traffic and then something happens, the sitemap tries again and suddenly we lose hundreds of views/traffic overnight.
Can anyone help me resolve this? Totally clueless to most of PHP and what could be causing this!

Is the sitemap created by a plugin of some sort?

Which plugin? My advice it to get another plugin if you have to, there are loads out there

I'm pretty sure it's because of the coding on the website.. but i'm not sure how, where or why. This is the 2nd sitemap plugin we've used and it's doing the same thing. I'm on the verge of just paying some company to go in and remake the entire code for the site.

It could be that the sitemap is too big to be generated in the allotted time that PHP has to execute. How many pages does your site have?

Well, we've got quite a few pages but we changed it so the sitemap would be able to get everything on the site. So that shouldn't be the issue.
