I'm no expert, so please bear that in mind when offering any assistance and your assistance given is appreciated!

Onto my question..

How do sites like this:
http://www.gamereplays.org and http://www.vbulletin.org setup their backgrounds so that they enclose the middle content area?

For an example, right click the background and view it. It has a left side and a right side.

I am wanting to do something similar to my vbulletin site located at http://www.cowboys-forum.com

But with the present themeing I don't know what I'd need to do to accomplish that.

Thank you for your help.

It is using css

create a image which you want as background, then apply the css

body { background:url(mybackground.jpg) center top no-repeat }

you may have to add this in your STYLESHEET(CSS) FILE,

the image can be single large image, or a small image to repeat itself

I appreciate the effort but that's not really telling me anything. I'm lost on how I should go about doing it.

I’m not so familiar with vBulletin but somehow you can edit the stylesheet, most likely from the admin panel. There you should look for the CSS rule that assigns the background image to the body element and change it from background-image: url([whatever]); to background: url([whatever]) center center;
