I am reading up on this swfobject which uses javascript to embed the
swf files.

They say that I need to have adobe flash player 9.0

Well I was going to use Flowplayer.

Does this mean that if I use swfobject then I can not use Flowplayer?
Or am I getting mixed up ?

I don’t remember having read that you need Flash Player 9. Actually that’s not true because it doesn’t matter what kind of Flash object you embed because all versions of Flash are embedded the same way. You just have to specify the required version to view the Flash object and provide an express install for easy upgrade if you want.

However, if you use Flowplayer you don’t even need SWFObject because that’s what Flowplayer is there for: it’s an alternative way to embed Flash objects with JavaScript. Read the documentation: http://flowplayer.org/documentation/installation/index.html

Yer - thats what I thought as well. But I was recommended to use
SWFObject as its the best.

So I will stick with the flshobject.js that Flowplayer provides.

thanks
