This should probably be made a sticky as it involves people being ripped off now more than ever. This involves any questionable business practices...and blatant scams that make newbies so vulnerable. My brother almost fell for one..so, feel free to post yours, too.
Search Engine Submission Software...This is probably one of the most common scams out there. Search engines now red-flag these.
Real Estate Websites..."Make money as you sleep" is usually the motto here. "50,000 hits a day!" Total programs can reach $7,500 which, if only one sucker a month was had, would total $90,000 a year.
Protect Your Code...Umm...not possible...just forget it.
Website Designers...More and more a problem as kids finally figure out Dreamweaver and Front Page...and suddenly, they're "experts". Horrible code bloating and slow page loading are no extra charge evidently. Stay far away from these newbies.
Search Engine Optimization..."Page 1 results...guaranteed!" Again...mostly kids looking for a sucker as they simply go into SE forums and ask what's the best way to optimize. Lame...but hey...it's only $400.
Email Lists...Usually outdated and gotten with harvesters. Stay away unless it's an opt in service.
Code Scramblers...See Protect Your Code above.
Post your "favorites" if you wish...
