Above is the location of a page that correctly is displayed in IE 8 but not in Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. all margins are set to 0 and borders and cellpadding etc are 0. I still get a thin white horizontal line at the bottom (or top) of the pictures in all but IE8. All the vertical line are invisible in all browsers

If you are able to help I would appreciate it.

Hi there NetSpaceman,

and a warm welcome to these forums. ;)

Try adding this...

img {
display:block;
}

...to your stylesheet.

That was amazing... Please tell me, if you have time, what that tells the browser. I would have NEVER imagined that.

That was amazing... Please tell me, if you have time, what that tells the browser. I would have NEVER imagined that.It's that mysterious gap (https://developer.mozilla.org/en/images,_tables,_and_mysterious_gaps)!

PS: Don't you know why using tables for layout is stupid (http://www.hotdesign.com/seybold/)?
