Hi,

I am using a form in my webpage that has a comment inside
it. The comment contains a unique code which I was thinking to use
as a way of searching for that form on the internet.

To show you what I mean, here is the site:
Project Management (http://www.expert-world.com/sp/project-management/)

and this is the code that has the comment:

<br><br>
<!-- // SF-Code Project Management M ##gc87f48yf** // -->
<a href="http://www.support-focus.com/check.php?key=SF64929"
onclick="NewWindow(this.href,'','860','700','yes','default');
return false" onfocus="this.blur()" >
<img src="http://www.support-focus.com/image_load.php?id=SF64929"
alt="Support-Focus Membership Click to Verify - Before you Buy" border="0"></a>
<br><br>

This code appears on my website as a clickable "seal".

To make sure that it only gets used once, I put that commentted
code there.

But I assumed that Google will find it - maybe it does not see the comments, does anybody know ?

Thanks.

I don't know for sure, but I can't imagine that they would index comments. Their purpose is to index for user-viewable content which would not include HTML comments. If you want to have it indexed you could use that code as the alt text for the image and then also use a title attribute on that image to present the hover text for that seal. To my knowledge alt text would be indexed.

What you say makes a lot of sense.

And thank you for the suggestion about the image alt text - good idea :)

OK,

I have done what you suggested.

The page now looks like this:

Project Management (http://www.expert-world.com/sp/project-management/)

I have left the comment in but added a code into both
the alt and the title tags here:

<!-- // SF-Code Project Management M ##gc87f48yf** // -->
<a href="http://www.support-focus.com/check.php?key=SF64929"
onclick="NewWindow(this.href,'','860','700','yes','default');
return false" onfocus="this.blur()" >
<img src="http://www.support-focus.com/image_load.php?id=SF64929"
alt="Support-Focus Membership SF64929 Click to Verify - Before you Buy"
title="Support-Focus Membership SF64929 Click to Verify - Before you Buy"
border="0" >
</a><br><br>

As you can see the SF64929 is in both and that should be a
unique piece of data to search with :)

Thanks for the idea :thumbsup:
