Help with javascript. question

I am very new to the java and would like to add the script to my site, I have been looking around but not sure what they call this script, it like a pop-up of a link, what i mean is when you click on the link the screen changes with more info, you must look to see what i mean i guess.

this is the code i like but need to know what to call it.

If you click on the first one "play day all classes" you will see what i mean
