strong css for columns/rows?

im using ASP.NET and using a repeater control.

I want to be able to make my items that are being bound, to be able to display x items per row using CSS. ive done this before for a client but the client had their own graphic designers who can do serious CSS which worked but i do not have the styling at hand.

how can we control how many items to display per row with the styling?

any ideas?

no, not using table tags at all. just pure css/divs if possible.

Just apply float:left; and a width to them. They will get aligned in rows depending upon the width of container element.
