Modelling a sensor network in MATLAB

Hi guys, not sure if anyone here actually works with MATLAB, what I need to do is to basically model a wireless sensor networks (e.g with 300 nodes and a couple of events) in MATLAb and I really don't know where to start, some ideas would be greatly appreciated

Try Simulink. I believe it has built in modules for sensor networks simulations.
