Using border-spacing in IE8

I saw that IE8 recognizes border-spacing if <!DOCTYPE is set. Well, it is set in my application, but IE8 is ignoring border-spacing.

I saw that IE8 recognizes border-spacing if <!DOCTYPE is set. Well, it is set in my application, but IE8 is ignoring border-spacing. The DOCTYPE (http://www.alistapart.com/articles/doctype/)is not optional, so must add a valid one at the top.

Is there any question? Could you post some sample code to demonstrate the issue?
