To be completely honest, I know nothing about C Syntax, javascript, or any code writing.....Where is the best place to start? Am I crazy to try to learn on my own or should I consider taking a class on basic coding first? I can build a general, functioning website, but as far as the foundation and the behind the scenes stuff, I'd like to learn it and be more adept at. If anyone can recommend a starting point such as a book, website, forum for novices, etc, please point me in any direction you believe can help me out. Thanks in advance!:)

Really depends on what you want to do later. But honestly, if you know next to nothing about programming, it doesn't matter what language you start in. Just know if you want to go towards computer programming...then start with a beginner book on java, C++, C# for example or if it's web programming you are more interested in, take a look at Javascript, PHP that sort of stuff (I for example don't know crap about web programming so I would be the wrong guy to ask in this case).

Web programming is easy to get started in since it is pretty simple and requires very little extra software. That would teach you enough to where you would find if you even like programming or not. If you already have a website you built, look into adding some server side code to it.

Thanks for the responses. I'm thinking I'm probably going to be doing more web programming, but I tend to like learning things from the ground up.....maybe I should start with binary code haha I think I shall take a trip to Barnes and Noble to see what I can find.
