Photoshop font tool going nuts!

Ok I've no idea why but to get a font that is only just readable on my screen in photoshop I need 10099pt, that's appears even smaller than xx-small in CSS! :eek:

I'm not sure why though, I've restarted my computer but it didn't fix it and I don't want to have to reinstall photoshop... although I probably will.

Anyone had this problem before? It was the same with all fonts!

Do you change the font size before typing text? If not, make sure you
select the text before changing the size.


Have you done a delete preferences yet ? Hold down shift, alt,ctrl down all at the same time the split second after you click on the icon to the program to open it. A message will come up asking if you want to delete prefs. Click 'Yes 'and then see if that helps.


A shot in the dark, what is the resolution of the image you are working on? If the image is a very high resolution, the fonts may show as very tiny, just like a brush would that you might use on the image.
