Hi, y'all - I have a vertical, list-based nav that displays well everywhere but IE6:

Can you see [in IE6] what I'm talking about (graded JPG background is obscured until hover)? Is this some sort of 'peek-a-boo'? Thanks for your attention :)

Hello zornfett,
Your list is not formed correctly.
See if you still have the problem when you make your list look like this -
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
</head>

<body><div id="content-wrap">
<div id="sidebar">
<div id="nav-2">
<ul>
<li class="first"><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
<li class="selected"><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
<li><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
<li><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a>
<ul>
<li class="first"><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
<li><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK TKTKTKTK TKTKTKTK TKTKTKTK TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
<li><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
<li class="last"><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
<li><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
<li><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
<li><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
<li><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
<li class="last"><a href="#"><span>TKTKTKTK</span></a></li>
</ul>
<div class="bottom"></div>
</div>
</div>

</div>
</body>
</html>

Thanks for your speedy reply, Ex, and thank you for catching that. Correcting the list per your suggestion, however, does not fix the weird obscuring of the background:

Interesting .. commenting-out 'position: relative' on LINE19 seems to fix this. Weird, as I put those positions in there to actually foil peek-a-booness ..
