PhotoShop 7 question:

I'm using PS7, is there a way to keep the layers unlocked? Some how I locked it and don't remember how I did it. Thanks.

In the layer panel, you'll see a little icon of a padlock next to the layer name. Click that, and that will unlock your layer(s).

If I click on the lock, nothing happens. If I double click on it a little window pops up that says "new layer".

Hi,

I think what you were doing was clicking the background layer, which is always "partially locked" until you double-click the lock next to the name. If you double-click it, you get a dialog box to rename it into a fully editable layer. What you want to do, if you have "regular layers" that are locked, is click the lock icon next to the fill option above the names in the layers panel. I made a screen shot for ya in an attachment with my reply.
