Using Opera 7, I find that the tip text which displays when the mouse hovers over an image, displays the url and not the provided alt text.

How do I fix this as it does not look good and is definately not what I want my visitors to see? - they should be seeing the text I have specified.

See www.clampett.org for examples although it even does the same on these forum pages.

dunno owt about opera mozilla or any browser other than Netscape and IE. I see your alt text fine. Perhaps (i'm guessing) there is a setting in your browser that needs to be changed. I reckon so coz, you are having the same problem with this site and your own. So it probably isnt your own scripting and must be a browser thing?

ALT text should only be displayed when the image can't. It showing as a tooltip is incorrect behavior on IE's part.

Use the "title" attribute to pop up text.

Blush! I should have realised - thank you for setting me right on this.

Do you know of any tools to assist in this? I have some DreanWeaver add-ons but they only do alt and ignore the title requirement.....
