View Full Version : AVI to GIF converter

Hi. I really need a program that converts AVI video clips into motion GIFs. I tried Mystik Media's BlazeConvert, but it started giving me some problems. Anyone know of any quick and easy ones?!

What I've done in the past is convert it to a series of bitmaps using either TMPGEnc, Adobe Premiere or Bink & Smacker Video Tools, then converted the bmp's to a gif using either ulead gif animator or adobe imageready.

Animagic can do it. But I won't recommend them since they died and they scammed people that registered anyway. But I'll try that Microsoft gif program. Maybe it's the thing I've been looking for all this time.

Jasc's thing that comes with PSP (can't remember its name) can open AVI's iirc so you'd be able to save as gif I reckon.

That microsoft gif animator link is bad. Where can I find it? Is it free? I'm in need of something free.

the link works fine for me; try it again. it is free, and googling for it should turn up a number of results. if you can't find it, i try and get the setup file to you.

the link is bad, I went through an entire page of search results from google and each were bad links, even the ones from microsoft's site. Is this some kind of tease / hoaxe? Please tell me a working link.

You could always give ImageConverter Plus (http://www.wugnet.com/shareware/spow.asp?ID=185) a spin.

i remember i used some time ago Babarosa GIF Animator who helps you to export GIFs into AVI but i'm not sure if it works from avi to gif

Microsoft gif animator can open avi files and gif. But personally, I don't like the program. And Animagic is another, but don't use them cuz they got busted for fraud. Registering actually takes away special features that were available in the trial (it should have been the other way around).

Microsoft gif animator was at www.pysoft.com last week, but I can't seem to find it now.
