Hi guys,

I need help in converting my static html site into a WordPres blog site type.

I first went install/publish the site as a static html and when I went to Cpanel and click on Fantastico in order to make it a wordpress blog, it allows me to do that after publishing it as a Wordpress blog, it is still showing the static html format.

My problem now is how can I make changes to this. Shall go into the cpanel and do something.

I need guidance... Thanks a whole for any info or tips that i can use to do this.

Thanks
JulieV

You need to learn how to convert pure HTML into a dynamic WordPress theme. This is far too long for a forum post; you'll need to follow a tutorial (try Googling "convert HTML to WordPress" or "WordPress tutorials".) Do you know PHP at all? It may be worth your while to hire someone to do it for you.

Hi Apostropartheid,

I will try and google it first and then see how it goes as I am running thin on budget..

Thanks

BTW. I was just wondering if I can go to the Cpanel and delete the site and then republish it again. And when I re-upload or re-publish it it will with the Wordpress theme. Is that possible to do?

Thanks

It's possible but it would be a waste of time. You'd need to drop your finished theme into the /wp-content/themes directory.

A wordpress theme would be different from an HTML file. You could run a query PSD to WordPress tutorial and fine many tutorials of how to do that. They usually start with a PSD file and not an HTML file. Then drop it to the /wp-content/themes directory and your wordpress site is ready

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your information and suggestions... I just did it and its finally working so I am very happy with.
I basically delete the all the files in the original static website but of course I have to save it first and then go t my Cpanel and change everything there and my hosting company has a fantastico unlike Godaddy who doesn't have it.

Thanks again
