when i go to make a pic or logo the letters always turn blury. Is it because i'm using older software?
It depends on what you are doing...Are you using any scanned images? Are you using layer effects or layer blurring? Are you resizing the image from its original (master) state? It could be blurry for any number of reasons, including software and it's aliasing capabilities (or even if you are not viewing the image at 100% of its master size), so it is hard to tell without more info from you.

no it's not a scanned picture.
it's not really the pic that's blurry it's mainly the text on it. I can have a plain white backgroung with no image just a word. The word itself won't be blury. Around the text is blury. Does that make sense?

What software are you using to make this graphic?
Also, check what effects you are using, for example, photoshop has the options have the option to have crisp, sharp, strong, and smooth text options.
If you have these options available, choose crisp or sharp, and it will help you sort it out.

well... the only thing i can think of is... anti-aliasing... is meant to stop text looking pixely (scroots word, not mine;)) by creating a pixel of softer border type thing around the edge... is that what you mean?!

i tried that. If i use gif instead of jpg it works if it's just a word, but if i use a picture and a word then the words come out fine but not the pic. The picture ain't as bright. it looks like a whole bunch of little dots.

Use a lower compression ratio for jpgs

Somewhere you will find the settings for the jpg save, it generally is set to be optimized (loses color), set that as high as possible, so that the picture is more or less not optimized at all whatsoever. That will or should do the trick.
And mattover-matter, changing the file type may not be an option in this case.
Best of luck!
