I'm new to XAMPP and Joomla.
Everything worked fine during few days but then when I restarted my computer I coulndt start Apache anymore.
MySQL and FileZilla are running. When I click on start Apache nothing happens but beneath it is written:
Busy....
Apache Service started
But the green running text does not appear

Port 80 in Skype is disabled. I have IIS on my computer.
I installed xampp-win32-1.7.1-installer.exe

How can I solve this?

It sounds like a conflict between IIS and Apache (which are two different programs that basically do the same thing). You said you have IIS on your computer and XAMPP is running Apache. Both servers probably use the same ports from what I read in this post (which may also help you fix your problem): http://varunkrish.com/making-apachexampp-and-iis-work-together.html

I have pretty much the same problem. I'm using Windows 7 and it doesn't state in Services that IIS is running.

Someone said change Listen 80 to 85 in the httpd.conf file. This didn't work. When I tried to start the Apache 2.2 service from the control panel, it throws an alert box stating it's a service specific error code 1.
