Joomla CMS help Please!

Hi All,

i have finally dived into the cms world and have found out how easy they are to use :)

however i have come unstuck, i am currently modifing a template and i have set up my articles but the problem im having is when i click on a link and it shows a certain article the page layout is always the same, and i dont know how to redirect the links to show a page apart from the index page with some get information attached.

ive seem some examples where all the links show a different formatted page so i know it can be done just dont know how.( i know about css etc but i cant seem to change the link path to link to another page except the index?)

also is it possible to save certain articles in a different db table? on one of my pages i want to display the titles of certain articles. is that what i would use category and section manager for???

if someone would be so kind to help me out i'd appreciate it!!

p.s is there no cms sub-forum on here?
is this the correct place to ask cms questions?

ok i think i have figured it out :)

is there a way an admin user could delete an article? without having to log into the control panel?

also is there a way to remove the create an account link as i only want specific users using the site :)

Not that we don't know Joomla, but those people are Joomla experts (unlike myself).
