About youtube videos... Say I see something interesting in a news website which contains a youtube video. (actually I might see the same video on youtube itself as well of course)... When the video finishes, there are "embed" code and a URL link.

When there is an embed code, does it mean that the original poster of that video is allowing anyone to embed that video to his website? Or does that embed thing appear no matter what, even if the original poster dont want it to appear any other website? (i never posted on youtube so I dont know)

Bottom line, can I just use youtube video freely in a news blog without getting permission, especially if I saw it in another blog or news website?

When uploading a video to youtube you have the option of allowing embedding or disallowing it. Allowing comments or disallowing comments.

So in short if you have the embed code its fair game. Youtube is pretty good about removing a lot of copyrighted material. It will depend the original creator of the video. For example you find a Family Guy clip on youtube. Now however it probably won't be wise to use this on your site as you could be infringing on copyrights.

well, this is the main benefit of video publishing in you-tube. This embed video with the site link is driving good traffic and this is only for the owner of the video. not for others
