Just wondering if anyone knew, or at least could tell me how to determine, the default colors of buttons in IE. I know they are all some kind or gray, but what I'm searching for are exact (or ridiculously close) hexi values for:

Background-color

Border-color-left
border-color-right
border-color-top
border-color-bottom

font-color (I think this one may just be called color in the style sheet attributes)

even more important than the color, even, is just the difference in value between them, but just giving me the colors, I can figure it out.

I feel this is a legitimate posting, even though I don't really have a code question, because I'm trying to change the colors through a javascript (obviously). If I made a booboo, feel free to reprimand me apporpriately and link me to another forum.

I mean.... no PLEASE dont' make me go away... I LOVE you Guys!!! (actually, I might just be codependent).

Okay, I CAN turn this into a code question!!! Hehehe...

Since I'm dealing with hexis (yah! base 16 woohoo) does anyone know offhead if there's a build-in javascript object or something for manipulating them? I'm sorta writing my own close and a buddy said that I was an idiot and that there was probably an already written collection of methods for that.

Maybe functions like

var hexidecimal = decimal.toHex();

or whatever might be out there (again, preferrably build in, but hey, external might be fun too! I'm open minded).

Thoughts?

If you're talking about system colors, here is an article about that:

Accessing the User-Defined System Colors, Part I (http://www.webreference.com/dhtml/column24/)

If you want to know the css counterparts of "Windows Appearance Settings", http://webcoder.com/* used to have a reference table (... but that site is no longer).

Since I mirrored that page for offline browsing, here's the table: :D

<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
<title>Windows Appearance Settings</title><style type="text/css">

caption,th { font: caption; }
th { text-align: left; }
thead.sideways th { font: bold small "Arial",sans-serif; writing-mode: tb-rl; text-align: right; vertical-align: top; }
a { color: #666; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; }
a:hover { text-decoration: underline; }
a:active { text-decoration: overline; }
tt,pre { font-size: x-small; }
table,tr,th,td { font: inherit; }

thanks, it's kinda not what I expected, but I think it'll do. I appreciate your input, F.N.G. !
