Check here also. (http://www.withinwindows.com/2009/03/15/windows-7-to-officially-support-logon-ui-background-customization/)
EDIT: Extra info added.
TweaksLogon can be found here (http://tweaks.com/software/tweakslogon/).
I have only tried it with 64bit Windows 7.

Thats more work than I'm willing to do so I still prefer to stick to Logon Vista.

Aero,
I have had problems with Logon Vista. It often reports that it cannot complete the change. Have you any idea why that might be? I would rather use it or something like it.

It could be that its a 32-bit app and may not work on your 64-bit versions?

You may well be right. I'll try it again when I get the Retail version of W7.
Not too long now. I advance ordered it from Amazon.

I have found that TweaksLogon (http://tweaks.com/software/tweakslogon/)works well with Windows 7-64bit

It does work but if you change your theme under personalization you will lose the changes made by Tweaks Logon Changer.

It seems to be the best available at present. Things will probably improve after the launch. Basically, all I want to do is to get rid of the present blue logon screen and replace it with a more acceptable one. Once I have done that, I'll leave it alone I suspect.
The other option does work for me although it is a bit messy to implement. Just call the one that is wanted 'BackgroundDefault'
Maybe Stardock will update their offering. That would probably be the best solution.
Fingers crossed.
