Im looking for a mafia game partner who is a very good coder and great with ideas i am willing to go 50/50 with the person who is willing to help

I have a free hosting site at the moment i know most of you wont like that but its just a little project and if i think the game is worth putting on the big world wide web then i will pay for a proper web hosting.

I am new to coding but willing to learn unless you want to work at it alone but i am not one for letting you do it all yourself i do really like to help but i am in full time collage and part time job so will juggle it all around it but i am usaly on around 9pm till midnight gmt time.

The person who is willing to help for free will get:

50% of all donations and the money that the game makes

An admin spot as an owner belong side myself.

And i am willing to neogitate just let me know here thanks

Ok well... your thread subject line reads "needing a full time coder". That to me indicates a full-time job. I'm just curious what you'll be doing full-time to justify your 50% of the project's equity. It sounds like half of my time will be spent mentoring you... this won't do anything to get our project out the door any faster, in fact it will slow down productivity by 50%.

As for buying good servers, there's no point in departing from a shared hosting company until traffic is a reality.

So I'm left yet wondering, what would be my incentive to join your team?

i get where your coming from and like i said i dont mind letting you or other people getting on with coding the game while i learn to code and hopefully help too and ino thats why i stated that i will buy a good sever and that when the game is up and running and have a decent traffic.

it would be good to see you in my team because i think you sound like a nice genuine person who is willing to work not just for the money but for the fun i dunno that is my prejudgment it maybe different but we all know a little income is nice and i am a very god advertiser i already have 9+ players lined up and will to spend alot of money to rank ect.

Btw if you want to talk privertly dont hesitate to pm me :)

I'm just trying to figure out how to explain to my wife why I can no longer pay the mortgage or buy groceries for my 2 kids because I decided to code for fun instead of money.

Holy cow, 9 players already?!?!

I love mafia games with all of my heart but I always told myself I'd only consider coding one for a chance at fame and fortune. I exaggerate of course, but this might be my chance, ya know? Hello, opportunity!

I have to warn you though, in all seriousness, I can only code in Fortran 90 (not 77 - that stuff is way too complicated). Your server would have to be totally based in Fortran 90 (not Linux, Windows, Lennox, or even Linus) and the website/server can't use or host any images because I don't know how to load them. This is very important. Fortran's cool though. You don't need punch cards or anything.

Anyway, if that's OK for the game that you have planned then I could probably help. You would need to find a server for sale someplace that specializes in Fortran 90 though (check into anything you can find that is manufactured by "GEC Computers" or by "Ungermann-Bass").

P.S. What is 50%? Is that like half?

50% means that i own half the game as so does yourself we split the pofits and other things i have already said i myself will pay for the server if you can do most of the coding because im not too good but i am learning for now and hopefully will be decent sometime down the line.

So we don't have to live together or anything? That's good 'cause I already have a roommate and we just bought a couch a little while ago.

So what kind of ideas do you need? Like futuristic guns and a selection of outfits for heavy-set mafia guys or what? I mean, I know they can't all be fat, but you know what I mean.

Aw, man! That reminds me. I once had this awesome idea about a new kind of food. It was kind of a cross between toaster pastries and hot pockets. Sort of like a toaster-pocket in an aluminum foil sleeve so that you could take it hiking. It was cool, but I never figured a way to make the toaster work whilst on the hike, you know? Anyway, I'm a real idea man and most of them work out in the end. I bet I could come up with a million of them if I tried.

Definitely check into that Fortran thing! I'll be checking back in with this thread real soon!

sorry to put this forward,

But you cant just learn to code like that:

as Most developer will tell you learning to code is only half of it,

Your team has to work in a why you can understand if you google learn php for example most of your results would be script not procedural or OOP

But you have to learn it then there is new stuff all the time somebody has worked out how to do this with it and all coders are allways learning the best way to learn to code is to code but your need to make sure you dont learn from one place as that is one persons way of codding and i can tell you in web coding there are hundrens of ways of doing certain this like oop outputting,
print_r from the method,
echo from the method
print from the method
return from the method to and echo print or print_r its that bad that a very basic thing and there is 6 ways to output
