Hello Ladies and Gents,

Trying to pass a subid that is being generated from an affiliate site, venticore.

In short, venticore creates a random id that is passed onto our site. We then need to track and store that id to be pulled up once a user has actually purchased the product and has reached the thank you page. The thank you page needs to pull that unique id for that user and plug it into the code provided by venticore.

I'm a php noob, and might have been searching for the wrong thing, just looking to get pointed in the right direction to find the code to use for something like this. I figure there has to be good examples of this out there.

Thanks!

to store the id use:

<?
$_SESSION['subid'] = $_REQUEST['subid'];
?>

then to bring it back up on the checkout page just use:\

<?
echo $_SESSION['subid'];
?>

Thanks for the help angst!

so for the thank you page we would end up with some code such as...

<img src=https://www.vintacore.com/ashjujd73hdsja/manual.php?sid=[<? echo $_SESSION['subid']; ?>]&rate=30&ip_override=yes width="1" height="1" alt="">

yes, thats correctly. only you shouldn't need the extra brackets.

just

<img src=https://www.vintacore.com/ashjujd73hdsja/manual.php?sid=<? echo $_SESSION['subid']; ?>&rate=30&ip_override=yes width="1" height="1" alt="">

ok almost resolved... got around to testing today...

when the url comes up in the browser it is : http://www.xxxxxxx.com/subfolder/subid=64_25084867 where _25084867 is always random... how would i need to modify this code to read the incoming variable and actually load the page? As of now all i get is the 404 page.. saying it cannot find the url

assuming that your page is named index.php, you should be able to access it like this:

http://www.xxxxxxx.com/subfolder/?subid=64_25084867

or

http://www.xxxxxxx.com/subfolder/script.php?subid=64_25084867

Thanks Angst!

The top link definitely takes it to the 404 page.

the 2nd link, if i replace script.php with index.php?subid.... works, however it does not seem to be passing the code over when i go to the success page. Is there something I'm missing?

just make sure that you have $_GET['subid'] in your index.php

try addeding

echo $_GET['subid'];

to test it.

just make sure that you have $_GET['subid'] in your index.php

try addeding

echo $_GET['subid'];

to test it.

That is working.. it is showing the code on the index page, just not getting it to show on the success page.
