can i open linux file by id

I have my backups renamed like

backup_home_user_21_aug_2009_11:32.tar.gz

Now the problem is if i have to restore it or move it or copy it then , i find it very hard to type that name evrytime again and again .

Now i can't rename the backups as i i want all the user , home , date time for backup

so any ideas??

Use tab complete so you don't have to type as much?
