What is the meta tag that disables stoopid IE feature of popping up a tooltip containing image ALT value:confused: :confused:
I believe one exists but I can not find a reference.
Help appreciated....

lets see who gets it first...;)

Thanks for the reply, but this tag turns off the image toolbar (got that one) not the damn tooltip....

Now I am confused... do you mean the yellow bar with text about the picture you get when hovering over it with the mouse???? If so, just don't use an alt.... if not, then PLEASE explain clearly to me what your asking... :D

Actually that should be:

<img src="..." alt="..." title="">

When you're using IE the tooltip can come from either the alt or the title properties of the image. When both are present the title property takes precedence. With Mozilla and other Gecko based browsers only the title property will be shown.

This form allows you to squelch the popup tooltip without sacrificing accessability concerns via the alt property.

if you want it really cross-browser, it should be:

<img src="..." alt="" title="">

in NS 4.X, title attribute is not supported, so you also need to make alt empty.
