I have just downloaded an iso image of Windows 7 Enterprise which I want to instal. I need a virtual dvd. Any recommendations welcomed. It will need 4 gigabytes of capacity.

I see no reason on why you would want to use enterprise. Its geared towards businesses. There is no difference in features between Win 7 Ultimate and Win 7 Enterprise. The main difference is you need a volume license key to activate Win 7 Enterprise.

It's just for something to do Aero. I have a lot of time on my hands. Keeps me busy.
I have pre-ordered Windows 7 Ultimate which is what I will instal when available. In eight days time I will be 84 yrs old with poor eyesight and dodgy legs. The internet is what stops me going dafter than I already am. My wife died with dementia five years ago. I am trying real hard to keep my brain in condition. I miss her.

Regards and thanks to you all for your patience with me. I do appreciate it.

You might be 84 years old.
But the way I see you acting and how enthusiast and determined you are.

You look much younger to me.

God Bless you.

Frank, you'll need to physically burn the disc in order to install it on your computer.

I think thats true though there are some cases where an "upgrade" has worked. But if it doesn't then yeah you'll need to burn it and install it.

Hi.

I had no problem using the virtual disk this time as always. The program went it without any problems and works OK. This is the sixth time that I have used this procedure, all without a problem. All my programs work as normal. Why would they not? I didn't even have to instal the programs. Just register them anew. It wasn't an upgrade. I did a fresh instal.

Frank.

Because the Windows 7 isos mainly the evals, and rcs weren't supposed to allow upgrades but rather clean installs instead.

How'd you manage that, then, Frank? I'm genuinely interested. I thought you could only run upgrade installs from the Windows environment and had to boot up to the DVD in order to do a fresh install on a new partition.

They gave me the choice and I chose upgrade, but they informed me of a reason that I might consider; (one of my programs might not run properly) so I chose clean instal.
I am used to it. I have installed the Windows 7 on my four computers and subsequent versions.

However I was left with all my programs on drive C. All I had to do was to register them to use them. So far, I have not managed to get the sidebar back, but that is the only casualty. I am working on it. Using the virtual DVD is a doddle Just point it to the code and from then on, one wouldn't know the difference from a genuine DVD. As I said, I have used the process more than once on all my computers without a problem

You must remember that the virtual disk is being run from existing windows environment.

Aero: They definitely give you the two options. I have just tried it again and the two options are on screen. There's no registration needed. It is built in. Just works for 90 days.

Incidently. I used Magic ISO to do the procedure.
