Okay,
I am the owner of Combat FPS.Com: http://combatfps.com/index.php
We are a gaming/FPS forum and we are looking for some coders to help us around the forum. We are trying to work on our signature generator and we hope to get a tournament system up and running.
A lot of us aren't really good coders and that's why we need people who are willing to help a growing community and maybe someday be rewarded!
If you do accept, You will be given Admin powers after a few questions.
Please register on Combat FPS and tell me there.

Coding for free? That's a tough one. Most programmers are busy with projects they are getting paid to do, or have their own projects they are passionate about, if they have time to work for nothing. I have 5 projects of my own I'm passionate about that are in line before anyone else's passions. The only thing that moves other people's projects ahead of my own is $$$$
You may get more response by getting your post moved to the "Web Projects" forum.

I already have this: http://combatfps.com/signaturegenerator/ but it needs some improvements.

Usually our response to questions around these parts are met with swear words coupled with violence and unhealthy doses of Spookster, but I'll tell you this gently: it's not going to happen. You're highly, highly unlikely to get an experienced professional working with you without monetary compensation. If you're lucky, someone charitable will come along, but we're professionals, and you should treat us as such.

People on the forums will help you here and there for tweaks or adjustments, but big projects such as all out tournament systems, it would take a lot to get that for free. (maybe if someone partnered with the site 50/50 since he would want it to grow for monetary gains in the future).
I'll always recommend learning PHP, and making an attempt, any problems people will help with because we've all been at a point where we didn't know jack about programming too. But no programmer attained his status by getting handouts.
As Apsostrophyeidjenwknsakjfdksdtheid said, most people here aren't hobbyists or have a lot of free time. Your best bet is getting someone passionate about the niche you're in, who would want to be a part of an FPS community.

This is what I am hoping for.
