mod rewrite!

I'm looking to create the ever popular urls like:

http://wimg.co.uk/tos

I don't want to simply remove the ".php" extension because it doesn't seem to be what they're doing.

http://wimg.co.uk/tos.php <- see? doesn't exist.

So what kind of rewrite would I need to do?
