So work just gave me a blackberry curve 8310. One of the nifty things a buddy of mine with a smartphone running windows mobile can do with his is set it up as a wifi router. Yea, he can use it to generate a lil bubble of wifi.

I was looking to have the ability to share a connection out across a couple computers. A tiny connection would suffice for my purposes.

Anybody know of anything for the blackberry that can do this?

I've fiddled with things like pdanet and the problem is that you can't bridge the connections as promiscuous mode isn't really supported by a lot of tethered connections.

Ideas?

I think you'll need to enable the wifi connection. Not all blackberries have one, then you'll need to enable bluetooth. I don't know if it can serve as an access point on its own. I think you might need bluetooth on the other systems and then have a local area network between them. It is pretty simple to use your blackberry as a modem however. Sprint offers their own software for this but mobishark does the same but its about 60USD.

Ive got a bold and i dont think its possible to be honest.

Better off posting in a dedicated blackberry forum like the official ones or at crackberry

meh, i was on here. doesn't hurt to ask.

@aero: yea, setting up as modem is easy enough... but like i said the tethered connections are tougher to share out. i've never fiddled with bluetooth for sharing connections. i wonder how hard that is.
