XML that updates Itunes or reverse.

I am wanting to place a player on my church's website that has audio for use as a podcast. So we will allow people to go the the website to listen, but go to Itunes to download the podcast. How does this relationship work? How does the xml update itunes, or the reverse? Do you have to manually update both sources?

I am a noob at this. Any help would be great!
