View Full Version : Well deserved graphics hype

It seems that this section of CF is kinda dead. There are hardly any posts, and even when you don't have any questions it would be nice to come here and learn something. I know that this is Coding Forums, but as an artist in the making I think we need to do something about it. Any ideas or flames against this post are welcomed (well maybe the moderators wont welcome the flames :) ). Anyway, my idea of a way to add some spice is that ppl that have talent please share it for the viewing pleasure of the less cultured code junkies. I hope to have something ready for show soon, and post it up here.

It seems that this section of CF is kinda dead. There are hardly any posts...

I do NOT agree is my middle name (LOL)…
I’ve been on many forums and believe me there are many out there with much less questions (and less solid answers for that matter).
For instance: I’m pretty active on a (Dutch) forum called Designers Help. Even there, the graphic section has far less questions than the coding section… What’s in a name?

I’ve launched an idea over there, and because it was ‘my’ idea (most likely it will exist in a different way somewhere else?), I’m going to do the same here (if I’m permitted that is). If the Dutch forum knows about this they probably will not be happy, but than again / let this be a CF secret (lol).

You probably all know the idea / game of one starting of to tell a few lines / telling a story, and another has to continue the story (within a few lines)?
Well, my idea is based on that, just adding in some graphic learning elements (Conform the intended purpose of this section). My idea is to tell a visual story. The first one starts of showing an image, animation or whatever and informs us about techniques he/she has used. The second one continues, makes some image or animation adjustments or launches a variant to the previous idea. All submitters are obligated to tell / inform about used settings / special effects, etc., etc.

A kind of a designers-‘battle’. Just a thought, but in my humble opinion: LET THE GAMES BEGIN (over here as well)

Greetings, Jan

Sounds good, I've seen this done on another forum, I think the javascripters have a similar thing too.

so can we just start posting our work, or will there be a 'post graphics work' forum?

I think it would be best to restrict it to this thread... unless WA feels otherwise.

Also, try to remote link images, using a url, e.g. http:://images.mydomain.com/myimage

It is more 56K user friendly, unlike the [IMG] tags.
